Here is a question to ask your accountants. Ask them what is the cost of a product or service produced by the organization. If they give you a figure, never trust them again, as the only thing this is likely to be certain is that the figure is “wrong”. If, however, the accountant asks you “What cost do you want?” or “What use do you need the cost for?”, this person is a key colleague who will provide you with invaluable information and advice.
